Job Description
Tarteel is a Muslim-led technology company developing AI-powered tools for Quranic memorization and recitation, along with open-source Islamic digital infrastructure. We seek a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our fully remote team.
**Role Overview**
You'll design and build both public-facing and internal web and backend applications using modern JavaScript and Python frameworks. You'll lead medium-to-large features independently, taking technical ownership from conception to delivery.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Write clean, maintainable, and performant code across the full stack
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to evolving technical standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineers
- Guide technical direction as the company scales
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript with significant React experience
- Solid Python competency
- Strong SQL and database design knowledge
- Deep understanding of web architecture, design patterns, and best practices
- Proficiency with Git version control
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and workflows
**Preferred Skills**
- NextJS for React-based full-stack development
- TanStack libraries for state management
- Django for Python backend development
- PostgreSQL for relational databases
- React Native for cross-platform mobile development

**Interview Process**
Three rounds: 60-minute technical coding screener, 60-minute technical deep dive with coding, and 60-minute culture fit assessment.
