Position Purpose:
This is a contract remote role for a Book Illustrator. The Book Illustrator will be responsible for creating digital illustrations, drawing, and designing digital art and graphics for various book projects. Additional tasks include painting and developing graphic designs that align with the thematic elements of the books. The Book Illustrator will closely collaborate with writers and editors to ensure the visual content complements the written material.
The Illustrator will be responsible for producing original, high-quality artwork that visually enhances educational and creative content. The ideal candidate combines strong artistic skill with attention to detail, flexibility under deadlines, and comfort working in Canva and other digital illustration tools. This role requires creativity, cultural awareness, and the ability to develop visuals that connect with diverse audiences through engaging, meaningful design.
Role Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, or related field is desirable
3–5 years of professional experience in illustration, graphic design, or publishing.
Strong proficiency in Canva, with ability to produce editable and layered designs.
English language proficiency (Reading, Writing and Speaking)
Proficiency in digital illustration tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Procreate.
Proven portfolio showcasing completed projects—especially illustrations suited for print, magazines or books.
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
Comfortable adapting to evolving creative needs and quick turnaround timelines.
Proficiency in Digital Illustration and Drawing

Responsibilities:
Create professional illustrations, characters, elements and concept designs suitable for print and digital materials.
Develop layouts, covers, and visual assets using Canva and complementary illustration software.
Collaborate closely with the creative and editorial team to maintain consistent visual direction.
Prepare final artwork for publication, ensuring high-quality output and design integrity.
Revise and refine illustrations based on team feedback while meeting production deadlines.
Work efficiently in fast-paced environments, managing multiple tasks and last-minute design requests.
Ensure all artwork reflects cultural sensitivity and aligns with organizational values.
