Job Description
Tarteel is a Muslim-led technology company dedicated to building AI-powered Quran tools and open Islamic digital infrastructure, including the Quranic Universal Library (QUL) project. We are seeking a Developer Advocate to build and grow our developer community.
Role Overview
This is a fully remote, full-time mid-level position reporting directly to the CTO. You will be responsible for fostering an engaged and vibrant community of developers using our platform, administering community grants, and championing open-source collaboration within the Islamic tech ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer grants programs for community project bounties and innovation initiatives
- Create and maintain high-quality technical content, including tutorials, blog posts, and video guides for the QUL platform
- Identify gaps in documentation and lead improvements to make our platform more accessible
- Champion community members and their projects through recognition and support
- Evangelize the Tarteel platform and QUL project through social media, written content, and video content
- Engage directly with developers through forums, webinars, and community channels
- Represent Tarteel at industry events, conferences, and developer meetups
- Discover and facilitate collaboration opportunities between Tarteel projects and the broader open-source community
- Increase visibility and adoption of our open-source projects on GitHub and other platforms
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience in developer relations, community management, or equivalent role
- Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience creating digital content (blog posts, videos, tutorials, or similar)
- Proficiency with GitHub Issues and Projects
- Hands-on experience with at least one frontend framework (React, Vue, or React Native)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Availability Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional fluency in Arabic
- Experience with Ruby on Rails
- Background in open-source or volunteer projects
- Familiarity with AI-based content generation tools
