Job Description
One Ummah, a faith-based international relief and development charity, seeks an experienced Community Fundraiser to build support and generate income for its life-saving campaigns worldwide. This full-time position, based in London, involves planning and executing a diverse range of community fundraising activities and cultivating relationships with donors, mosques, and local organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver at least two small-scale fundraising events monthly, including community BBQs, car washes, charity stalls, and collection drives
- Build and maintain relationships with major donors and community partners to expand One Ummah's supporter base
- Organize and arrange international volunteer deployments for both fundraising activities and direct aid delivery
- Execute a quarterly charity challenge and one major international charity challenge annually
- Secure five clothing bank locations within the first twelve months
- Pursue and secure radio or television appeal opportunities, particularly during key periods such as Ramadan and emergency responses
- Manage ongoing community engagement and outreach initiatives
Essential Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence
- Proven experience in fundraising, marketing, or related community engagement
- University-level education or equivalent professional experience
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT proficiency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media/digital marketing platforms
- Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
- Understanding of Islam's basic teachings and values
- Commitment to One Ummah's vision and equality principles
Desirable Qualifications
- University degree
- Experience in the UK charity sector
- WordPress proficiency
- Knowledge of Islamic financial principles including Zakat, Sadaqah, and Waqf
